Wazeera Shekoni

Ms. Wazeera Shekoni is a rising sophomore from Romeoville, Illinois, double majoring in economics and French and Francophone studies, with a minor in International Studies on the pre-law track. A graduate of Lockport Township High School, she previously served on the District 205 Board of Education as a student board member and member of the finance and facilities committee, representing over 4,000 students.

At UIC, Ms. Shekoni is a representative and deputy director of legislative affairs in Undergraduate Student Government, serves as event coordinator for Model United Nations, and writes for the corporate team of the Chicago Undergraduate Law Journal. As student trustee, she aims to amplify student voices and strengthen the connection between students and university leadership.
